• $250 pays for one month of medical treatment for 85 students by visiting nurses who examine them and distribute medication and supplements. Nurses instruct parents in home health care and sanitation. 

• Malaria, typhoid, and respiratory infections are all challenges your donation can meet!​

​Food Security - $1,200

• $1200 pays for one month of twice daily nutritious meals for 85 students.

• Your recurring monthly $15 donation pays for one month of meals for one student.

• Adequate nutrition should be a right. Bright Light provides its students with food that most do not have at home.​
   

Sponsor a Teacher for One Month - $95

• Most of the dedicated staff, like our first-grade teacher Effie, have been at Bright Light since the beginning in 2019. Help them inspire young lives.​
   

Classroom Essentials for One Month - $175

• Samuel, a third grader, writes about his engineering dreams in a personal diary. Your donation of $175 provides 85 students with teaching tools for one month like books, chalkboards, and other supplies, including a personal notebook and two pens for each student.

• A comfortable study environment keeps the focus on learning.

Purified Drinking Water - $120

• $120 purchases purified drinking water for all 85 students and staff for one month in the heat season. Rain water is harvested and purified for drinking during the rainy season.

Water for Irrigation and Sanitation - $225

• One month of daily transport and storage of water from the lake to irrigate agriculture and maintain the cleanliness of the school.
   

New Uniforms for 10 Students - $400

• A Bright Light school uniform, sweaters, socks, sturdy shoes, and a rain umbrella for long walks to school creates pride and a sense of belonging.

BUILDING THE FUTURE

Expanding infrastructure will allow Bright Light Academy

to educate more of Rusinga's children.

Multi-use Community Activities & Dining Hall - $10,000

• A building where students can eat, play during Kenya's rains, use as a computer lab, study with each other, and the community and staff can utilize for meetings, literacy classes, and other activities.

One All-Weather Cement and Brick Classroom - $6,000

• Henry and 16 other students will graduate this year but may not enter the Kenyan public school system in 4th grade because their parents cannot afford it. New classrooms mean one day students can continue their education at Bright Light through the 6th grade.​​​

​

Smart Farm Garden - $1,200

• Tamma and Rosie learn sustainable agriculture while growing food for the school. This garden teaches environmental stewardship and provides excellent nutrition.​
