Engineers Without Borders Photo Gallery - Spring 2026 Visit

The long-term vision of these pilot models with Engineers Without Borders in agriculture and water filtration is to enhance household food security and access to safe drinking water among the poorest families in Rusinga Island, Kenya.

These images show the EWB team, students, staff, and community families preparing a field for planting, studying initial seedling growth, inspecting pathogens in the lake water they drink, observing water testing, practicing filtration with a home device, consulting with nearby farmers, and creating a reservoir to capture rainwater for irrigation on dry days.

Everyone at Bright Light learned by doing about innovative farming practices, sustainable living, and the impact of environmental degradation on their lives and futures. Over a 10-day working visit the team, staff, families and students built connections and really enjoyed each other.
